Plain english explanations, descriptions and directions to get started in using that new or almost new computer. The writers assume no prior knowledge and explain what they are talking about in an easy to understand manner. Their non-subscription web site (search for Smart Computing magazine) is available to show the features of their monthly offerings and they have a wonderful Question and Answer page on their web site that is a great way to meet "power users", who can help with any kind of computing problem. I have been a subscriber for many years even though I am now no longer a "Novice" (but not quite a "power user")and just enjoy reading Smart Computing. When the reader is ready there is always PC Magazine (which I now understand much better, thanks to Smart Computing).
